The Settlers: New Allies achieves accessibility by just being simple and easy, which means it will struggle to hold the interest of anyone besides the most inexperienced of players. However, this issue has steadily become less prominent as most developers have sought to ease newcomers into their complex systems, resulting in experiences that can hook and keep players. New Allies, like the previous entries in the franchise, is intended to be baby's first RTS, which used to make sense due to the genre's general inaccessibility. Despite this modern reboot being a long time coming, the game failed to live up to the license's legacy. Tracing back to 1993, The Settlers was a fixture of the '90s and 2000s, but a new entry in the series has not been released for over a decade. A real-time strategy game that has been in development for a number of years, The Settlers: New Allies was initially set to launch on Mahowever, the game was postponed.
